Yoram Yovell

Prof. Yoram Yovell, a graduate of the MD-PhD program of the Hebrew University Medical School and the Department of Neurobiology, is a psychoanalyst and psychiatrist who trained at Columbia University Psychoanalytic Institute and at the New York State Psychiatric Institute. He is co-director of the Institute for the Study of Affective Neuroscience (ISAN) at the University of Haifa, and training and supervising psychoanalyst at the Israel Psychoanalytic Institute, Jerusalem, where he is on the teaching faculty. He is a founding member of the International Neuro-psychoanalysis Society and served as editor of its journal. Prof. Yovell is the author of two bestselling books about the interface between psychotherapy and the neurosciences and is the host of an award-winning interview program on Israeli TV where politicians, writers and performing artists talk about the relationship between their biographies and their work.
