Yael Hedaya

Yael Hedaya, a Jerusalem-born author (1964), is a bestselling novelist and screenwriter. She has an M.A. in creative writing and English literature from New York University. She began her career as a journalist and columnist for the Israeli daily newspaper Yediot Ahronot and the Tel Aviv weekly magazine Ha’Ir. Hedaya is the author of five novels. She has also written for several TV drama series, including the successful Israeli series B’Tipul (“In Treatment”), which was bought by several countries and was produced and aired by HBO to international critical acclaim.  Hedaya has taught creative writing at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and currently teaches screenwriting and heads the screenwriting program at the Sapir College Film School in Israel.  She has been awarded the Prime Minister Prize for Hebrew writers (2002). Hedaya is currently writing a feature in English for FILM4, England, and is creating an original drama series for an Israeli-French co-production.
