Ilse Josepha Lazaroms

Ilse Josepha Lazaroms is a novelist, essayist and literary critic. She studied Gender Studies and received her PhD in Jewish Studies. She lived in the United States for many years, where she worked at Harvard and the Center for Jewish History in New York. Her nomadic life has taken her to Budapest, Jerusalem, London, Oslo, Florence, and Jena, before settling in Amsterdam, where she now lives with her daughter. She writes about translated literature for De Groene Amsterdammer and De Nederlandse Boekengids (The Dutch Review of Books). Her debut novel DUET was published in 2021, followed by ELDERS in 2024, and OCHER in 2025.
