Benjamin Balint

Benjamin Balint, a writer and translator living in Jerusalem, has taught literature at the Al-Quds Bard College of Arts and Sciences in East Jerusalem, the first humanities program of its kind for Palestinian students. Balint is also a library fellow at the Van Leer Institute. His reviews and cultural journalism have been published in the Wall Street Journal, Haaretz, the Weekly Standard, and Die Zeit (Germany); his translations from Hebrew have appeared in the New Yorker, Poetry International, and Crazyhorse.


Balint is the author of BRUNO SCHULZ, 2023 National Jewish Book Award Biography winner, and KAFKA'S LAST TRIAL, awarded the 2020 Sami Rohr Prize, and is coauthor of JERUSALEM: CITY OF THE BOOK.
