Apo Sahagian

Apo Sahagian was born in the Armenian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem to a family that settled there as survivors of the Armenian Genocide. His Arabic pop-rock band is called Apo & the Apostles

Apo earned his BA at the IDC in Herzeliya and an MA in Political Science from the Central European University in Budapest. Between his academic pursuits, he worked as a researcher at the Palestine-Israel Journal of Politics, Economy, and Culture and was a program coordinator at the Center for Democracy and Community Development in Jerusalem. 

Apo is the artistic director for various Jerusalem institutions, primarily the Jerusalem Season of Culture and their cultural house, Feel Beit. He also co-hosts Unholy Talks, a podcast that delves into local and international issues through a Jerusalemite perspective.  He has contributed op-eds to Haaretz and the Armenian Weekly. 

 

He spends his time between Jerusalem and Yerevan, Armenia.
