Historian Tom Segev Receives 2015 Peace PrizeNov. 3, 2015
Historian Tom Segev is the recipient of the 2015 Peace Prize for Lifetime Achievements of the “Geschwister Korn- und Gerstenmann-Stiftung” foundation in Frankfurt am Main.
The peace prize is awarded to Segev for his research and contributions to the critical discourse on some of the most complex issues in the history of the State of Israel, including the role of the Holocaust in the national consciousness and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Previous recipients include Shimon Peres, Amos Oz and Daniel Barenboim. The prize is given once every three years at the Jewish community center in Frankfurt. The sum for 2015 is 50,000 Euro.
Tom Segev, formerly a reporter of Ha’aretz, is the author of seven books, translated into 14 languages. He is currently working on a biography of David Ben-Gurion.
