Tom Segev is one of Israel’s best-known journalists and leading historians. He was born in Jerusalem in 1945, 10 years after his parents arrived in Palestine from Nazi Germany. He holds a BA in History and Political Science from the Hebrew University and a Ph.D. in History from Boston University. Segev is currently a columnist and roving reporter for Ha’aretz, Israel’s most influential and prestigious daily newspaper. Covering the politics of culture and issues of human rights, his provocative stands have made him one of Israel’s most-quoted journalists in the international media.

The author resides in Jerusalem.
