SEVEN MORAL FAILINGS (Fiction) 2006
Not since David Lodge’s Changing Places has a contemporary author so acutely pierced the façade of academic life. Using the seven moral failings as vehicles to illuminate a fiercely competitive world, Arad tells the story of four candidates vying for a prestigious position in a leading university. The moral failings carry the story to its dénouement – who will manage to outshine the others and snag the job? SEVEN MORAL FAILINGS includes mystery, intrigue, tension between good and evil and powerful rivalries all climaxing in an unexpected ending. According to Israel’s leading newspaper, Ha’aretz, ”Brilliant is the most suitable title for this book…[written by] one of the most gifted authors in new Israeli writing.”
