Dr. Aliza Lavie is is a scholar and writer, publicist, social activist and since 2013- a Member of Knesset. Before  becoming an MK she was a Lecturer on Gender, Multi-Culture and Media in the Department of Political Studies at Bar Ilan University, Editor and Moderator of Jewish and Israeli cultural programs at Israel Television and a research fellow at Brandeis. Lavie is a sought-after lecturer in Israel and overseas on diverse topics including women's prayer, Jewish culture and identity, Israeli society, and Israeli-Diaspora relations. Her book, JEWISH WOMEN’S PRAYERS, has sold more than 150,000 copies, received both gold and platinum bestseller awards and won the 2008 National Jewish Book Award.
